Born: 1953 Nairobi, Kenya.

Education: B.A. [hons] Degree in English Literature and Fine Arts.

Postgraduate Diploma in textile design, both from the University of Leeds, UK.

Early 1980’s: Ran the Rowland Ward Gallery in Nairobi.

Mid 1980’s: Founding member and art-director of Kichaka, a multimedia workshop specialising in the printing of avant-garde African textiles.

Mid 1990’s: Decided to forgo his other commitments to paint full time.
