Biography
Patrick is 30years old Kenyan born, brought up in Ngangarithi village in Nyeri district which is located about a hundred and fifty kilometers north from
Patrick has been brought up by his single parent together with his two sisters and one brother. He is the last born. The only income for their family is farming. Patrick went for primary education in a local primary school and joined his secondary education whereby he discontinued because of financial problems. After staying at home in the year 1996, the year 1997.he decided to join young men Christian association (YMCA). For two years to train in fine arts and design. Although it was a talent he attained his certificate.
In school Patrick always enjoyed painting even when at home. Since his minor age Patrick always practiced painting and now he is a successful painter. His painting behavior has been inspired by God given beautiful surrounding environment. Patrick is one of the best known visual artist; painter, illustrator and fabric decorator using air brush in the region. Most of the times Patrick is committed to preaching the gospel.
In the year 2003 Patrick and other few interested and up coming visual artist formed a Nyeri Fine Arts and Crafts Association, idea being to create awareness in the society. Later in the year 2005 he volunteered himself and was appointed the treasurer until 2006. Currently Patrick is working a freelance artist in & outside Nyeri.
Patrick has participated in several artists workshops and competitions including health and human right art calender 2007 on 29th September 2006 sponsored by GTZ and Kenyan government and a workshop organized by ministry of culture in Kenya for central province in the 14th October 2005. Currently Patrick is looking for a permanent place to exhibit his work whereby African colours are one of the outlet for international market and exposure.
Although visioned to do so many thing for himself and other fellow upcoming artist, lack of financial stability has hindered him to accomplish his dream but he is always patient.
